About
Hi, I’m Layne—an Atlanta‑based artist with roots in the small town of Tallassee, Alabama. Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and it’s always been the place I return to for joy, expression, and a little bit of sanity.
I started performing in college, when a handful of us would gather on Friday nights at a little chicken wing spot on Magnolia Street in Auburn, Alabama. It wasn’t exactly an LGBT+ bar, but we somehow managed to turn it into one whenever we played there. Those nights were the beginning of something bigger—soon we were playing bars and venues across Alabama and Georgia, soaking up the energy of live performance and earning a little extra cash while I worked toward my music degree.
These days, I’m based in Atlanta, performing regularly at local venues and occasionally traveling to play in other towns. My shows blend original songs with a mix of rock, alternative country, jazz, and blues covers—music that feels authentic to who I am and creates a space where listeners can settle in, connect, and enjoy the moment.
Over the years, I’ve worn a lot of musical hats: jazz guitarist in college, singer/songwriter across the Southeast, songwriter and producer for Songfinch, guitarist for theater productions, and independent artist releasing my own music on Spotify, Apple Music, and more. It’s been a winding, rewarding journey, and I’m grateful for every stage, artists I've shared the stage with, studio, and song that’s brought me to this point.
I’d love for you to listen to my music on the home page and come out to a show if I’m playing near you. Please say hi—I always love meeting new people and connecting with folks who support local music.
Cheers,
Layne
